A man is dead following a multi-hour standoff with Chico police that ended in an officer-involved shooting Saturday night at an apartment complex on Nord Avenue. Police say the 43-year-old man was wanted in connection with a shooting that left a victim critically injured Friday night in downtown Chico's Lot 1. The victim remains in stable but serious condition. Police found the suspect at the Post apartments , the man refused to surrender, prompting police to order residents to shelter in place. During the standoff, the suspect exchanged gunfire with officers, who returned fire and killed him. The suspects identity has not been released
