A Chico woman was arrested for attempted murder after strangling a patient at the Oroville Hospital on Wednesday. Oroville Police officers were dispatched to Oroville Hospital around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a volent altercation taking place between two patients in the waiting area. Officers arrived at the scene and found 34-year-old Cassandra Roller of Chico being restrained by hospital staff. Authorities say that Roller allegedly used a drawstring to strangle another patient without warning or provocation. Roller was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and causing injury to a dependent adult.
