Thursday afternoon , Bomb squad technicians were dispatched to Philadelphia Square at Eaton and Esplanade, to investigate a suspicious package. The building closest to the package included Congressman Doug LaMalfa's office . Technicians determined its contents to be safe. Inside the bag, techs located soiled diapers. Chico Fire Department's Hazmat Team examined the white powdery substance located near the package and determined it to be white granulated sugar. LaMalfa released a stemnt that said in part "This behavior is an embarrassment to those in opposition of what they believe my team and I are about. Sadly, today was just another example of Trump Derangement Syndrome coming home to Chico."
