FIRE VICTIMS SUE PGE IN FEDERAL COURT OVER TRUST PAYMENTS

A number of Fire victims gathered in federal court as part of ongoing lawsuits against Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Thousands are awaiting full payouts from the Fire Victims Trust, established to compensate those impacted by fires like the Camp Fire and Tubs Fire. The victims claim that both PG&E and the Fire Victims Trust have not been transparent in the process. PGE Officals responding to the suit state the utlity did not have a role in selecting the trustee or administrator and does not have a role in reviewing claims or making payments to fire victims from the fire victim trust." To date, the Fire Victims Trust has paid out $13.7 billion to survivors. One final payment is expected to bring Camp Fire recipients to 70% of their total claims.
