Chico Waits on Judge Ruling on Warren Agreement
The City of Chico recently returned to court for a hearing centered on the provisions of the Warren Settlement. This legal matter has brought the city's ongoing homeless crisis to the forefront once again. City offcials have been keeping a close eye on the developments. City Manager Mark Sorensen said the judge's decision could be announced either in a few days or weeks, but there's no set timeline on when.
The recent hearing specifically addressed Motion 60, which sought clarification on whether the settlement applies only to the eight plaintiffs listed or to the entire homeless community in Chico. The second hearing, originally scheduled for October 15, will focus on clarifying parts of the Warren Settlement, including camp clear-out operations. It has been rescheduled to October 29th.
