Nalaxone vending machines are set to appear at select locations in Shasta County. Often referred to by the brand name 'Narcan,' is the medication that reverses drug overdoses. The vending machines will be brought to increase the availability of Narcan across the county and potentially save lives. Shasta County Public Health Harm Reduction Supervisor Shauna Stratton says the vending machines would be available in Shasta Community Health Center locations in Redding, Anderson and the City of Shasta Lake. They will also appear at the Good News Rescue Mission, the county jail and locations in Shingletown and Burney.
