SCOTUS denies appeal in Same Sex Marriage Case
A bid to overturn the right to same-sex marriages has been rejected by the Supreme Court. The justices declined to take up the appeal from former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis to overturn the 2015 landmark decision. The bid had been seen as long-shot by analysts. Davis received national attention when she refused to issue marriage licenses to a same-sex couple due to her religious beliefs. One of those couples was awarded damages by a jury after they sued.
