A 32-year-old Chico man accused of attempting to murder a Butte County Sheriff's deputy was arraigned Thursday and ordered held without bail, according to the Butte County District Attorney's Office.
Kristian Stevens faces a charge of attempted murder of a peace officer, along with additional firearm, theft and drug-related offenses. The DA's office said Stevens was also arraigned on two counts of evading Chico Police during pursuits in Chico on Feb. 13 while driving two different vehicles.
