Oroville Woman Sentenced on Elder Abuse Charge
Wednesday, a judge handed down a sentence of nearly 30 years for a In Home care worker who abused her elderly client over the course of several months. The Butte County District Attorney's Office says that Desiree Herrera of Oroville previously pleaded guilty to elder abuse and felony assault charges. Authorities say the abuse involved a man in his 70s whom Herrera was supposed to assist through the state-funded In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program.
