Cesar Chavez allegations of Abuse of Young Girls & Women
Sexual abuse allegations against the late labor leader Cesar Chavez are leading to shock and anger. Chavez founded the United Farm Workers in 1962, and now that group is cancelling many events designed to honor the labor icon. The UFW released a statement Tuesday saying it has become aware of "disturbing allegations that Cesar Chavez engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with women and minors" during his time as President of the union. The UFW said the allegations are "shocking, indefensible and something we are taking seriously."
