Paradise leaders are urging more neighborhoods to join the Firewise USA program as part of a push to make the entire town a Firewise community and strengthen local wildfire preparedness. The effort was announced by the Town of Paradise Insurance Committee and the Butte County Fire Safe Council. It focuses on expanding participation in the nationally recognized Firewise USA program, which is designed to help residents reduce wildfire risk and improve community readiness. The Fire Safe Council said expanding the number of Firewise communities could create a larger network of neighborhood leaders to help share wildfire preparedness information and encourage participation in local fire safety efforts.
